Work Your Jam

Maximum energy

Hi Reader,

Are you a football fan? 🏈

I was raised on the other type of football ⚽, and even played it with my neighbors in my tomboy days.

Tonight was Super Bowl 2025, held in New Orleans, with a generous dose of local music culture.

When I started to get into the game in the 2010s, I learned how it was all about the game stats for some, and more about game day food and watch parties for others. (Buffalo wings and guacamole, anyone? 😀)

American football is such a high contact sport, and demands so much from its elite players.

The grueling practice sessions, the ultra-competitive vibe, and the heavy toll it takes on their bodies. It calls for nothing less than peak physical energy.

But physical fitness is only one part of the energy equation. For them, and for the rest of us.

Thanks to other star (and outspoken) athletes like Michael Phelps (swimming) and Simone Biles (gymnastics), we're learning the importance of mental health/energy in our lives and work.

Then there's emotional energy and fitness, something we don't tend to share with others. But...it IS something we can feel into, and move through, with the help of a song.

And there's also spiritual energy, a vibe we tend to grow within our faith practice. It keeps us connected to something greater than us, so that we feel seen, and heard, and held...even in moments of solitude.

Maximum energy is possible when we tend to all these dimensions.

It helps to keep us feeling vital, and healthy, and whole.

I hope you make time in your day or week to do just that. ✌️

Rock on, Reader ✌️
