Sharing my USP

Hi Reader,

Galactic things fascinate me.

Not because of Star Wars - though that certainly plays into it - but because of the unending mysteries of the cosmos.

When I say "May the 4th be with you," I first think about my two favorite Star Wars characters - Yoda and Princess Leia.

They represent two key parts of me.

Yoda's Zen vibe is alluring. It reminds me of the wisdom I seek to gain, and then to share with others.

Princess Leia kicking butt when and where it counts? Sign me up.

Then there's this question of...the Force.

If you ask me, it's a stroke of world-building genius to have called it that.

Generations of Star Wars fans have now been schooled on the Force, this idea of a mystical, spiritual energy field that binds the galaxy together.

It's a Unique Spiritual Proposition (USP), holding its mainstream own in a pantheon of supernatural or faith traditions,

I dig it.

And it's had me thinking about the Unique Spiritual Proposition in my work.

(Yes, this is my twist on the Unique Selling Proposition that we use in sales and marketing.)

I was raised in a multi-faith environment, where religious tolerance and acceptance was vital to maintain community peace.

From an early age, I learned how there are multiple doorways to the divine.

Eastern or Western, ancient or modern, personal or communal.

If it lifts you up, or guides us home...it counts.

Music is one of my main doorways.

Interestingly, and unusually, the music doesn't need to be sacred i.e. chants or hymns.

More often than not, the Force shows up inside a pop song.

A thread of its energy mystically passes from the songwriter to me.

The more meaningful the song is to me, the stronger the energy, and the more divine potential it carries.

If that song means something to you too, then - when I sing it for you - we have a chance to walk through that divine doorway together.

I aim to start bringing my musical USP to you later this month.

Till then, may the Force that you treasure be with you.

Rock on, Reader ✌️
