The songs that light you up

Hi Reader,

Some musicians never get old.

I don't mean in the chronological sense.

But in how you can listen to their songs, a million times over, and somehow they still sound fresh.

That's how it is with me and the Beatles. 🥁

When I returned to music in 2020, their discography was top of mind to learn to sing and play.

And boy oh boy, there was so much to choose from.

Fancy some songs about holding hands, or how she loves you? Check.

What about slice-of-life tunes about people named Eleanor, or who live on Penny Lane? Yup.

Or maybe something more surreal and cosmic is your cup of tea? They've got those too.

Picking one Beatles song as a favorite is an impossible choice.

So, for my latest YouTube video upload, I didn't pick just one. Hello, medley. 🎶

And...

I skipped the instruments altogether.

Because their harmonies were cool 😎, and I felt they could stand on their own.

I love the Beatles for a bunch of other reasons too.

For one, their adventures in Eastern mysticism mirror my voyage into, and fascination with, universal spiritual principles that guide our lives.

For another, it's inspiring to see how they evolved their sound from mop-top innocence to Abbey Road wisdom.

Their lives didn't stand still, and neither did their music.

With each major life beat, they found a way to weave their experiences into lyric, melody and, yes, signature harmonies.

Speaking of life beats...
