Here's what I've learned:
Feeling the feels is good for the soul.
I used to work in jobs where it wasn't wise to show my emotions.
To be fair, not many workplaces are open to emotional displays, so it wasn't an unusual vibe.
But most of those jobs were very stressful, and required me to be in peak performance mode at all times.
Sometimes, when it all got to be too much, I would make a beeline for an office bathroom stall, talk myself off an emotional ledge, then "man up" and return to my cubicle.
In those moments, it was important for me to feel the feels, so I could keep doing good work.
These days, I feel blessed to have found my sweet spot of work...where music, with a rich emotional language all its own, allows me to freely feel the feels - mine, and yours - so we can transmute them, then keep doing our good work in the world.
